The 2023 Spring & Summer Air Conditioning Guide
When the heat ramps up in the spring and summer… there are certain questions that we get asked all the time. That being said, we’ve decided to make a guide covering those questions so that everyone may find comfort in their air conditioned home this hot summer.
It’s your guide to staying cool through the upcoming summer months.
How Can I Make my Central Air Conditioner More Efficient?
We have a list of maintenance tricks that will make your air conditioner last longer and operate more efficiently: replace the filter at least every three months, keep your vents debris-free, seal the ducts, program a A/C schedule in your thermostat, keep your compressor cool, remove any dirt or debris from around your compressor, get tune ups annually.
Do Central Air Conditioners Use Water?
The short answer is no. Central air conditioners don’t use water to operate and aren’t connected to a water tank or supply line.
Why is Air Conditioner Making Gurgling Sound Even When Off?
All signs lead to a refrigerant leak, water in the P-Trap or a drainage problem. You should call your local repair company to get quick advice.
Why Does my Central Air Conditioner Keep Running?
Reasons your air conditioner might be running more than usual: it may be an old unit that needs to be replaced, improper size and installation method, air filter needs to be checked and replaced, coils are covered in debris or dirt, an obstruction of airflow is present, thermostat is malfunctioning, there are air leaks, lack of insulation, or a repair is needed.
Should I replace or repair my air conditioner?
You might want to consider the investment if any of the following are happening to your air conditioner: noisy AC (Air Conditioner) and vibrations, water leaks, hot air blows out, lowered airflow, it smells like burning, dust is gathering around the house, your energy bill is going up. If your unit is 10 to 15 years old, you might want to consider replacing it.
The reason is most warranties only last 10 years, and if you pay to repair the unit, it will continue to break down until you’re required to invest in a new one anyway.
